Grew up in San Juan Capistrano listening to folk legends from Mexico. He taught himself to draw at an early age. He eventually began taking art classes in college. He never considered being an illustrator, but people came calling asking for illustrations.
He studied Art and Illustration at CSULB. After graduating he began working at Lariat News creating illustrations for the publication while also freelancing as an editorial cartoonist for USA TODAY College for a time.
Anibal divides his free time listening about politics and researching folktales from Latin America. He is currently working on a book dealing involving the mythical monsters he grew up hearing about. His editorial cartoons can be found on Mission Viejo Reporter's Facebook page.
